Autumn leaves turning

Reflections fall into stream

Colors drift away.

Water falls pure white

Edged by brilliant colored leaves

Blue skies dance in waves.

Creeping green shadows

Trees advance up rocky peaks

Filling ancient folds.

 

Morning glory pool

Faded from deep flower blue

To a leafy green.

Coiling blue river

Snakes through blazing fall tendrils

Spreading slow fire.

Inside seething earth

Colors rise to paint thin crust

Catch each passing cloud.

Ancient eyes staring

Chill ghosts of past prairies caught

Between earth and sky.

Below scudding clouds

Granite boulder statues float

Lapped by azure lake.
