In leaf draped darkness

Cascade plunges between stones

Roars in green silence.

Color drains from earth

Water mirrors fading sky

Tree turns to shadow.

Trees crowd together

Zigzag branches reach for clouds

Gathered over peaks.

Early morning fog

Veiled forest flickers through gray

Flowing up from stream.

Dark mountain below

Sunset clouds billow with light

Instant before night.

Behind waterfall

Sunlight catches thousand drops

Plunging down to earth.

Flying far above

Like giant puzzle pieces

Land and water one.

Just before sunrise

Colors spill across pale sky

Palm fronds dance at dawn.
